The scope of this Law shall be regulation of the relations concerning protected ecological and economic area “Issyk Kul”. Issyk Kul lake has special status as natural ecosystem of global importance with a series of objects of cultural heritage protected by the state. Basic conservation principles shall regard: (a) conservation of global and local biological diversity; (b) conservation of cultural heritage; (c) recreational tourism; and (d) sustainable development of the area. This Law shall be a
