This Law provides the legal basis for ensuring the quality and safety of foodstuffs and tobacco products. State regulation of food quality and safety shall include: (a) standardization; (b) state registration of foodstuffs and manufacturing equipment; (c) certification; and (d) state supervision and control. Standardization shall entail the establishment of hygienic, sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary requirements for product quality and safety, processing, storage, transportation and sale.
