This Act provides for the setting up of the Malta Maritime Authority, whose main tasks and duties shall be the following: (a) to provide, maintain and operate ports in Malta; (b) to prevent and control pollution by oil or any other substances of any port; (c) to advise the Government on any matter relating to ports, merchant shipping, marine pollution prevention and control; (d) to regulate and control navigation.
