This Act regulates the processing and sale of meat in the territory of South Australia, it consists of 45 sections and is divided into seven Parts. The Act establishes the Meat Hygiene Advisory Council, spells out it functions and powers and regulates its operation (Part 2). It provides for the accreditation of meat processors and all related licences (Part 3) and for the sale and marketing of meat (Part 4). Enforcement of the Act and inspections are regulated under Part 5.
