This Act amends the Merchant Shipping Act with respect to, among other things: definitions; application of the principal Act to foreign ships; application of international conventions; registration of ships, exemptions and prohibitions; enforceability of maritime liens; priority of maritime liens; registration of foreign ships; appointment of Registrar of Foreign Ships; appointment of Registrar of Seafarers (Foreign Ships); bareboat charters; survey of foreign ships; and offences.
