The Decree implements Directive 99/50/CE of the Commission of 25 May 1999 amending Directive 91/321/CE implemented by Ministerial Decree No. 500 of 6 April 1994. The Decree establishes the maximum levels for pesticides residue on cereal-based infant formulae and follow-on formulae. The Decree further amends Decree No. 500 of 1994 excluding in any case the use of genetically modified products on infant food.
