This Ministerial Decree establishes that biosphere reserve “Issyk Kul” shall be classified as protected area set up for the following purposes: (a) conservation, reproduction and management of natural ecosystems with rich natural and cultural heritage; (b) recreational use; and (c) long-term ecological control, monitoring, research and education.
