The Government, for the purpose of conservation of the ecosystem of the Baikal lake, decrees to validate the list of prohibited activities therein. The list includes the following types of activity prohibited in the central ecological zone of the Baikal protected environmental area: forestry with the use of dangerous plant protection means, timber extraction and clean cutting, while in cedar forests is prohibited any kind of felling except for improvement cutting and selective sanitation cutting
