Pursuant to Act No. 979 of 1982, this Decree provides for the setting up of the marine protected area “Isole Pelagie”, whose boundaries are delimited by a line joining the points referred to in article 2. The overall objectives pursued by establishing this marine area are a comprehensive environmental protection of the zone in question, giving particular regard to fauna and flora specimens. The Decree encourages the undertaking of research and educational programmes in the field of marine biolog
