These Regulations provide for licensing of Irish fishing boats fishing for monkfish in specified areas. These Regulations also provide for additional control measures for those who apply for a licence under the licensing scheme introduced by these Regulations. Boats must be registered in the Register of Fishing Boats and possess a valid licence under section 222B of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act 1959 (as inserted by the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003.
