This Notice of the Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs, made under section 66 of the National Environmental Management: Biodiversity Act, 2004, establishes for purposes of section 66 the list of exempted plant species. Section 66 provides that the Minister may, by Notice in the Gazette, grant an exemption from the provisions of section 65 of the Act prohibiting the carrying out a restricted activity involving a specimen of an alien species without a permit issued in terms of Chapter 7.
