This Act establishes the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency as the coordinating and monitoring body on the implementation of Federal Government policies on National Oil Spill Contingency Plan. There is also established for the Agency a Governing Board to be known as the National Oil Spill Response Governing Board. The Agency shall be a body corporate and shall, among other things: (a) be responsible for surveillance and ensure compliance with all existing environmental legislation
