Nomination of the Planning Authority as the Competent Authority (L.N. No. 57 of 2001).

Pursuant to section 6 of the Environment Protection Act, 2001 the Minister of Home Affairs and the Environment has nominated the Planning Authority as the competent authority for purposes of that Act. The Minister may however appoint another person or body by Regulation to carry out functions and carry responsibility under the Regulation issued by him.
