The purposes of this Act are a) to ensure conservation, and prevention of waste, of oil sands resources of Alberta, b) to ensure efficient development in the public interest of the oil sands resources; c) to provide criteria and means for appraisal of oil sands resources; d) to cooperate with the Government in controlling pollution; f) to disseminate useful information regarding oil sands resources , and g) to ensure the observance of safe and efficient practices in the exploration of oil sands
