The Order’s purpose is to protect the natural and cultural values of Saltholm, surrounding islands, and the shallow parts of the territorial sea around Saltholm, in order to preserve its natural habitat. This Order supplements the Conservation Board's decision of 27 December 1983 on the conservation of the island Saltholm with adjacent islands.
