The Order sets regulations on the prohibition of antimicrobials and vaccination which should not be used as a method for control of salmonella in hatching (and consequently breeding) of chickens and turkeys. Owners of such animals should ensure that tests are taken and submitted for salmonella inspection – in adherence to Appendix 1 guidelines. Should there be cases of contamination, the Order sets regulations on the hygiene and quarantine processes required.
