This Act defines the EEZ and the continental shelf of PRC China and specifies jurisdictional powers of China in these maritime areas. Fishing activities in the EEZ of China by foreigners require approval of the competent authorities (art. 5). The competent authorities shall have the right to conserve and manage the straddling fish stocks, highly migratory fish stocks and marine mammals of the EEZ, anadromous fish originating in rivers in PRC China and catadromous species that spent greater part
