This Act provides for the establishment of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board as a body corporate and defines its powers and functions. Functions of the board include: registering entities engaged in refining, processing, transportation, marketing, import and export, etc. of petroleum, petroleum products and natural gas; protecting the interests of consumers; levying fees and other charges; laying down technical and safety standards.
