The following new sections are inserted in the Plant Protection Act, 1975: Section 4A which grants power to the Minister responsible for plant protection to issue an Order declaring notifiable diseases, prohibiting cultivation or harvesting or otherwise directing measures for the prevention or control of spreading of plant pests and diseases.
