These Regulations amend the principal Regulations of 1997 by: inserting a new Part I; by renumbering Part I and Part II; by inserting a definition of “genetically modified plant” and a new regulation 22 in Part I; and by adding to Schedules to the Regulations. Part I prohibits the importation of plants, plant products or plants for planting listed in Part III of the First Schedule (reg. 4), requires an import permit for plants, plant products or plants for planting listed in Part II of the First
