The objective of this Act, consisting of 54 sections divided into four Parts and completed by five Schedules, is to protect the State waters from pollution by oil and other substances, to give effect to certain parts of the Marpol Convention, and for related purposes, and to repeal the Oil Pollution Act 1961. It sets provisions to prevent various forms of marine pollution from shpis et for the application of Convention for prevention of pollution from ships.
