These Regulations establish provisions for the prevention of pollution of the sea in particular the discharge of sewage in Singapore waters. The discharge of sewage into the sea is prohibited except when the ship is discharging disinfected sewage using a system approved by the Administration at a distance of more than three nautical miles form the nearest land or when the ship has in operation an approved sewage treatment plant.
