Pursuant to the general principles and rules laid down at the national level under Act No. 353 of 2000, this Regional Act provides for the protection of forest resources against fires. It lays down provision on the competences of the forest service in matter of fire-fighting activities. The Regional Council is responsible for implementing an information system for the assessment of forest fire dangers.
