This Regional Act aims at preventing the spread of organisms harmful to plants on the regional territory, with a view to restricting economic and environmental damages as well. The Regional Phytosanitary Structure (referred to in Regional Act No. 3 of 19 January 1998) may create phytosanitary protected zones so as to safeguard the production of regional nurseries.
