This Regional Act, in compliance with the principles established at the national level by Act No. 36 of 1994 on water resources, provides for the arrangement of the regional integrated water service and the definition of territorial optimal areas. It strengthens the cooperation between the Provinces and the Municipalities to ensure the proper functioning of the integrated water service as well as the rational exploitation of water resources.
