The purpose of this document is to ensure that wild populations of Atlantic salmon are maintained and restored to a size and composition which ensures diversity within species, and salmon production and harvesting opportunities. These parameters are a guideline to clarify what constitutes good quality wild salmon and thereby giving authorities a basis for the management of stocks affecting the populations of Atlantic salmon.
