It is not permitted in 2014 for Norwegian vessels to fish and land capelin in the northeastern Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea (ICES statistical areas I and II). It is however permitted from 20 January to catch a maximum of 38 980 tons of capelin in the area south of 74 degrees north and west of 32 degrees east, with the exception of a fishery protection zone around Svalbard, and with the restrictions at any time required by article 16.
