It is illegal for Norwegian vessels to fish capelin in the North East Atlantic. Exception is made for Norwegian vessels with purse seine permit that can fish a total allowable catch of 49 189 tons of capelin in Greenland fishery zone north of 64.30.N, in the Icelandic economic zone north of 64.30.N and the fishery zone around Jan Mayen.
