This Regulation is established on the basis of subsection 55 (31) of the Nature Conservation Act. Killing of the following live specimens of animal species specified in Annexes to Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 on the protection of species of wild fauna and flora by regulating trade therein that have been imported or bred for commercial purposes is permitted: (a) species of the family of sturgeons and paddlefish (Acipenseriformes); (b) medicinal leech (Hirudo medicinalis).
