The Regulation sets out the indicators and standards for the quality of coastal marine waters. The text of the Regulation is divided into 17 articles, Additional, Transitional and Final Provisions and one Annex. The Regulation defines coastal marine water areas and the use of water therein. The Sanitary Protection Zones (SPZ) in such regions are also considered and so are their boundaries. Further provisions regulate accidental pollution of these waters.
