This Resolution of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), adopted in accordance with the provisions of Article IX, paragraph 1 of the IOTC Agreement, taking into account overfishing of albacore and damage to traditional albacore fishing by piracy, requires the Commission shall request the IOTC Scientific Committee to propose various measures to improve fishing effort related to albacore fisheries in the IOTC area of competence.
