In conformity with Laws No. 667 of 29 December 1997 and Law of 8 July 1939 on the protection of panorama, landscapes and natural localities, this Resolution decrees the course of the Al-Asy (Orontes) River a natural area submitted to the protection of the Ministry of the Environment. The protected area extends from the sources in Magharat Arrahib, Arraffas and Ain Azzarqaa' to it's mouth on the border with Syria. The length of the area extends from the source to the mouth and the width for 500 m
