In order to protect and preserve the sponge, and due to the sponge is threatened with extinction, this Resolution in conformity with Resolution No. 95 of 9 May 1934 on the regulation of sponge fishing and No. 2775 of 28 September 1929 on the control of marine fishing, decrees the absolutely prohibition of sponge fishing for 5 years, along the Lebanese coast, as well as the use of compressors on the boat for 5 years.
