The present Act establishes a Federal Risk Assessment Office. Its aim is to make food, substances and products safer thus helping to protect the health of consumers. The three main areas of its work - food safety, product safety and chemicals safety - encompass a wide range of topics, such as: biological safety of foods and zoonosis; hygiene in the food sector; food ingredients; nutrition risks, genetically modified foods, contamination of food with environmental toxins, feed safety, pesticides
