In view of executing the Environment Protection Law and the Marine Environment Protection Law, preventing and controlling seawater pollution, protecting marine biological resources and other marine resources, and preserving marine ecosystem, this Standard is hereby formulated. It classifies seawater quality into four grades, and gives the quality standards for each grade.
