These Regulations, made under the Merchant Shipping (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law, 2002,require fishing vessels of less than 15 metres in overall length to comply with the "Code of Practice for the Safety of Small Fishing Vessels" of the Public Services Department. They provide that it is an offence for a vessel to proceed or attempt to proceed on any voyage without complying with the Code of Practice. The vessel involved in the offence may be detained.
