These Regulations prohibit the first placing on the market of genetically modified rice “Bt 63”from China. “First placing on the market” is defined by the Commission Decision 2008/289/EC on emergency measures regarding the unauthorized genetically modified organism “Bt 63” in rice products. The placing on the market, however, is allowed in specified circumstances.
