The present Law implements the Directive 2001/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the assessment of the effects of certain plans and programmes on the environment. The purpose of the Law is to ensure that in certain private and public projects, as well as plans and programmes the impact on the environment is exhaustively investigated, described and assessed and its result be taken into due consideration.
