The purpose of the present Ordinance is to transpose into German law the Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy of 23 October 2000 and the Council Directive 76/464/EEC on pollution caused by certain dangerous substances discharged into the aquatic environment of the Community of 4 May 1976.
