During the meeting, the Director of Liceo No.100 Mr. Guillermo Rodriguez Sandaño and the RCU Coordinator Mr. Heitor Matallo highlighted the importance of maintaining and strengthening cooperation between both institutions on education and awareness raising activities.

 

Regarding potential areas of collaboration, some activities were identified to be implemented during 2012 and 2013: a training workshop for teachers on education for sustainable development and fight against desertification supported by UNCCD and UNESCO, an interactive activity at the school to celebrate the Word Day of Environment (5 June) and the World Day to Combat Desertification (17 June) and an exhibition of handicrafts prepared by the students with recycled materials, among other activities.
