Abstract:
The object of the request and the application was to obtain a decision as to whether the length of the proceedings relative to the hearing of the applicants appeal to the Swiss Federal Court had exceeded the reasonable time stipulated by Article 6 § 1 (art. 6-1) of the Convention. The Court found Article 6 applicable to a complaint about the length of proceedings for compensation for injury caused by noise and air pollution from a nearby airport. The Court held that there had been a violation of Article 6-1.
