The Parties have agreed as follows: 1) in the field of standardization, compliance and protection of the consumers rights the cooperation shall be aimed at the creation of the permanent information system for exchange of information on hazardous products and labelling (art. 60); 2) in the sphere of mining the cooperation shall have as its purpose adoption and implementation of the ecological legislation, the Parties shall work for compatibility of sanitary and phytosanitary standards (art. 61); 3) in the sphere of agriculture and agro-industry the cooperation shall be carried out in the form of the development of farming, modernization of the rural infrastructure and improvement of land use planning (art. 64); 4) in the sphere of energy the Parties shall improve safety standards of energy supply, development of energy saving, prevention of negative environmental impact of energy production and energy supply (art. 65); 5) in the environmental sphere the Parties shall cooperate in the sphere of pollution control, sustainable and ecologically efficient energy production, water quality control, safe waste disposal and waste management, conservation of forests and biological diversity global climate change and ecological education; the aforesaid cooperation shall be carried out in the form of early warning system development and joint environmental research (art. 69).
The Agreement was ratified on 26 November 1996.
