According to the "Arrangement between the National Certification of China and Accreditation Administration and the Ministry of Primary Industry of New Zealand on mutual recognition of organic product certification" (hereinafter referred to as the Mutual Recognition Arrangement), on the premise of meeting the requirements of the mutual recognition arrangement, the organic product certification systems and results of New Zealand and China are equivalent.
The Mutual Recognition Arrangement applies to products listed in the Organic Product Certification Catalogue, excluding aquatic products and textiles. Organically processed products will contain at least 95% organic raw materials certified according to New Zealand's Official Organic Product Guarantee Scheme or China's National Standard for Organic Products.
For Chinese organic products exported to New Zealand under the framework of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement, on the basis of meeting the relevant requirements of China's organic product certification, the organic products exported to New Zealand should also comply with the "List of Prohibited Substances in Organic Products Exported from China to New Zealand" (in Annex 1) in terms of soil and fertilizer management, food additives, food processing aids, etc. requirements. Each batch of Chinese organic products exported to New Zealand should be accompanied by an English organic product certificate issued by a Chinese certification body Chinese organic products sold in New Zealand should bear the Chinese organic product certification mark, organic code and the name of the certification body.
