From 1 January 2010, the European Union target, as referred to in article 4(1) of Regulation (EC) No. 2160/2003, for the reduction of Salmonella spp. in breeding flocks of Gallus gallus (the Union target) shall be a reduction to 1 % or less of the maximum percentage of adult breeding flocks of Gallus gallus remaining positive for Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella hadar, Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella virchow (the relevant salmonella serotypes).
