This Decision sets out the principles, regulations and measures for controlling antimicrobial business, for taking responsibility for antimicrobial management, for improving its proper use, aimed at reducing the formation of antimicrobial resistance, promoting animal health and keeping consumers safe. The Decision defines the types of antimicrobials for animals and aquatic animals, the acceptable daily intake, the maximum residue limit, the withdrawal period and the side effect. Matters covered by this Decision concern: information on antimicrobial for fishes used in animal husbandry and aquaculture; labelling; quality control; evaluation of antimicrobial effectiveness; definition of antimicrobial administration manual; determination of daily dose and cessation period; use of antibiotics in groups of animals; mixing of medicines with food; prevention from use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs; assessment of anti-microbial resistance; responsibilities of stakeholders and manufactures of antimicrobials; responsibilities of veterinarians; responsibilities of animal feed producers; general prohibitions; inspection; final provisions: sanitary measures, quarantine, import and export of antibiotics.
