Regulation on the Agency for Development of Viticulture u Winemaking under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan determines the status, main tasks, functions, rights, responsibilities, organization of activities and reporting of the Agency, as well as functional duties and responsibilities of its managers. The Agency is a republican body of state administration, a structural subdivision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which carries out unified state policy in the field of viticulture and winemaking and is accountable to the Ministry in its activities. The main objectives of the Agency shall be as follows: (a) implementation of unified state policy in the field of viticulture and winemaking, as well as the development and implementation of comprehensive targeted programs aimed at ensuring the dynamic development of viticulture and winemaking; (b) assistance in the expansion of grape plantations, mainly technical varieties, and development of winemaking, in the implementation of modern resource-saving technologies and comprehensive modernization of winemaking enterprises; (c) support for winegrowers and winemakers in attracting direct investments to organize the production of competitive winemaking products, increase export potential through in-depth marketing research of foreign markets, as well as the promotion of domestic winemaking products, including abroad; (d) assistance in in training highly qualified specialists in the field of viticulture and winemaking through cooperation with foreign and domestic educational institutions, research and development institutions and leading manufacturers in the industry; (e) regulation of the activity of producers of grape planting materials, interaction with the Inspectorate for Regulation of Alcohol and Tobacco Market under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in terms of determining the quality of alcoholic products from grapes, fruits and berries; and (f) keeping electronic register of grape plantations together with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Land Resources, Geodesy, Cartography and the State Cadaster. Regulation on the Foundation for Support of Winegrowers and Winemakers of the Agency for Development of Viticulture and Winemaking under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes the procedure for management of the Foundation with a view of financing projects for the development of viticulture and winemaking, and financial support of winemakers.
