This Government Resolution approves the National Water Resources Management Policy. This Policy defines the Government's responsibilities, intentions, objectives and strategies for the management of National water resources. It provides a general framework and an action guideline for National water resources management policy until 2030. It is a guidance and information policy for public authorities, water resources managers and all stakeholders involved in drafting and implementing legislation, regulations, policies, strategies, plans and actions for the management of water resources in the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Procedures for issuing water-use certificates should ensure equitable access for women and vulnerable households to water, without prejudice to the constraints on the amount of water available, with the main objective of supporting and strengthening their involvement in agriculture, fisheries, industry, commerce or other economic activities related to water.
