By Presidential Decree 433 dated 29 December 2014, Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment of the Kingdom of Netherlands on water resources management was approved. The Parties agree upon establishing a framework for long-term cooperation in the field of integrated management of water resources by developing knowledge and experience for preventing possible floods or reducing their harmful impacts. The long-term objective of this cooperation of both countries is contribution to joint efforts for capacity building in water-related disaster management and implementing these services to other countries on the basis of the mutual consent. The Parties shall carry out activities on early warning systems, preventive measures of flood, elimination of consequences and inspection and investigation of stability of hydraulic structures. According to the Article 7 regarding confidentiality, the Parties shall not transfer information and documents to third parties without prior written consent. The dispute may be solved by negotiations and consultations between the Parties. This MoU may be amended by mutual written consent. This MoU shall be valid for two years and is automatically renewable with termination rights requiring six months written notice.
