This Act amends the National Water Supply and Sanitation Act 2016 by, among other things; changing the name of the "Water Papua New Guinea Limited" to "Water PNG Limited", by amending the water supply and sanitation functions of the Company and by making adjustments to provisions regarding control of other water supply operators by the Company. It also inserts a new Part (IX) on the merger of the NCD Water and Sewerage Limited with the Company. The National Capital District is declared to be a water supply district and a sanitation district for the purposes of this Act.
The Company may operate and maintain a sanitation system in a sanitation district or operate and maintain water supply systems in a water supply district- (a) in any city, town or rural area; and (b) for any city, town or rural area.
