This Presidential Decree defines the following main tasks of the Intellectual Property Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan: (a) ensuring the implementation of unified state policy in the field of intellectual property, providing legal protection for inventions, useful models, industrial designs, trademarks and other intellectual property objects; (b) comprehensive analysis of the state of legal protection of intellectual property objects, elaboration of specific proposals for the development of this sphere; (c) implementation of measures to ensure consistent and uniform law enforcement practices in the field of intellectual property; (d) establishment and strengthening of international legal cooperation in the field of intellectual property, including through the conclusion of international treaties on mutual protection of intellectual property rights; (e) participation in scientific research and other work in the field of intellectual property; and (f) raising the legal culture and developing a respectful attitude towards intellectual property in the society. The Agency shall be autjhorized body of state administration, which carriesd out unified state policy in the fielf of protection of intellectual property rights.
